On Monday, we’ll spend our class looking at the Dreyfus Affair in much more detail. We already know it was an incident where a French army officer was wrongly accused of being a spy for Germany. He was the army’s highest ranking Jew at a time of rising anti-Semitism in Europe. Now, we’ll go a bit deeper and examine the steps that led to up to the incident. We’ll also look at what it tells us about the role of bias in the administration of justice.
