Today in class we’ll discuss the so-called “fake news.” The term gets thrown around a lot today, but in reality we should worry less about labeling sites “fake news” and more about being able to discern fact from fiction. If we can do that, it will be easy to avoid sites that routinely publish false or unreliable information.
During class, we’ll read one type of fake article, a satirical news piece by Andy Borowitz of The New Yorker. Here’s a link to that story.
